      California Academy of Sciences

Access standards-based science activities fit for either the classroom or the museum!

Located in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, the California Academy of Sciences is the only place in the world to combine a natural history museum, aquarium, planetarium and world-class research facility under one roof. Ignite your students’ curiosity — and take science beyond the textbook — through interactions with animals, biologists and immersive exhibits. Driven by a mission to explore, explain, and protect the natural world, our goal is to offer educators the means to help promote science literacy both in and out of the classroom.

While you'll find our online lesson plans here, we welcome you to browse through the many programs and resources offered to teachers and students:

Field Trips: for pre-K through 12th grade formal school groups in California

Youth Group Visits: for organizations in California serving youth, such as afterschool programs, clubs, camps, and more

Teacher Workshops: come to the Academy to explore science topics with hands-on activities
